To ensure safe and direct passage for vehicles and pedestrians on all streets and sidewalks within the city limits.

Public Works (aka) Street Department maintains and repairs

v      Street Lights

v      Drainage Problems

v      Mows Public Right-of-Way, Drainage Channels and Detention Ponds

v      Traffic Signals

The Street crew also executes special projects as they come up for the City and other departments. They respond to emergency callout situations by barricading, sandbagging, cleaning storm damage and sanding as needed.

The department inspects roadways for sign repairs, pavement management, sight obstructions, performs traffic control when necessary, emergency response operations during business hours and assistance in code enforcement.
